Business context
PSS operates in special steel, serving manufacturing customers that often buy by grade, application, urgency, size, and technical requirement rather than by brand storytelling alone. The digital challenge is therefore not simply “be active on social media.” The business needs a clear way to explain materials, applications, service advantages, and why a buyer should contact PSS.
What the research uncovered
Initial product and sales interviews identified priority materials including SS400, S50C, SKD11/TGX6, 2311, and SKD61 Round Bar. More importantly, the sales team surfaced recurring customer frustrations: inconsistent service from larger suppliers, difficulty getting urgent material, orders being locked at another supplier, and smaller orders receiving less attention.
Two differentiators strengthen the positioning: no minimum order and free technical support / training from an experienced technical expert. Those advantages create a stronger message than generic claims such as “quality steel at competitive prices.”
Strategic translation
The digital strategy converts technical and commercial reality into four content pillars:
- Material clarity: grade, properties, applications, alternatives, and machining context.
- Customer problem solving: urgency, small-quantity requirements, material selection, and supplier service gaps.
- Technical authority: training, expert guidance, FAQs, and application-based education.
- Commercial accessibility: no MOQ, clear inquiry paths, and responsive consultation.

What success looks like
Because this is a current project, I do not treat planned activity as a result. The first measurement layer is designed around search visibility, indexed product pages, qualified inquiry volume, product-page engagement, sales feedback, and the questions prospects ask after consuming the content.
